Complete and utter exhaustion!

This weekend was crazy busy! Luis got in town on Friday evening, we had the whole house to ourselves and it was wonderful. It was really nice not worrying that the kids were bugging my mom or that we were being too loud. We hung out with the kids, watched t.v. and played video games the first night, it was like we were a family again. The worst part about living away from each other is that we don't get any normal family time. Every time he comes in town it's because something is going on and my mom has a really bad habit of making plans for us without our consent, she doesn't understand that we don't always want to do something with somebody, sometimes we just want to be alone. So yeah, it was nice doing nothing together.

Saturday I had to work but Luis got to spend the afternoon with the kids, they loved having him to themselves, they talked his ear off, colored pictures for him and showed him everything under the sun. After I got off work we picked up the babysitters and had our first date in a long time. We went and had dinner then met up with some friends to have drinks and then we headed to the strip club. We had a lot of fun, it was my first time at a strip club so it was a little awkward but all in all I had a really good time.

Sunday was spent recovering from Saturday, Monday I worked in the morning and we hung out the rest of the day and today we went to San Antonio for Luis' appointment. Luis is leaving at 5 am tomorrow and I'm not looking forward to saying goodbye, it was nice having a man around and the kids loved having their daddy.

I can't wait till Luis gets out of Oklahoma so we can be back together again, it can't come soon enough, I'm already sick of Houston weather and I'm over living with my parents again. I know, surprise, surprise, I'm sick of my mom. I knew I would be sick of her soon, I'm honestly surprised it took this long. When school starts I'm going to switch to full time and that should help. We'll see.

Damn, cost of living.

One major drawback to living in Houston is that everything is more expensive, like way more expensive. I've been filling out paperwork to get my kids in school next year and since Sophia is only 3 I'm going to have to pay for preschool. When I found out how much preschool was going to cost at the school we are sending Nicholas to I about shit a brick.

So, I started looking at other schools and you know what? They are just the same. I could send both of my kids to full day private school here for the same price to send Sophia to full day preschool in Houston.

All I have to say is I better get a good paying job because I'm not going to be able to afford to do anything but take my kids to school. Why can't money just fall out of the sky, huh?

Big News!

So, I've been thinking about whether or not to write this post for a few days now and I decided that you will eventually find out so I might as well share.

As many of you know I've been unhappy here in Oklahoma for awhile now, I hate everyday and if you let me I would stay in bed all day. My husband has been concerned about me and the kids since we moved here but we did what we could to make it bearable here.

When we started discussing school next year for the kids, the cost of sending two kids to private school would leave little else to do with our money. There is nothing to do here but sometimes spending money on crap is the only thing that keeps us sane.

We decided that rather than be broke and unhappy the kids and I should move back to Houston with my parents and maybe I could even get a job finally. So, come summer I'm packing our bags and moving to Houston. Nicholas is going to get to go to school with his cousin, Sophia is going to get to spend more time with her grandma and I get to interact with adults other than my husband and I get to have friends again.

The obvious drawback to this situation is that Luis has to stay here because of his job but we've gone through deployments before and been just fine and at least this time I don't have to worry about him getting blown up. We'll come back up to visit when the kids have off school and he'll come down when he has some time off work but the most important thing is that I will want to start living again instead of staying in bed all day.

A lot of people won't understand this, a lot of people will criticize me for it but it's my life and I have to do what is best for my family. I can't be a good mother when I don't even want to be around and in Houston I will have lots of help from my family so I can get better and start to be me again.

Yeah Trish, we might actually be able to hang out somewhat regularly...and I'll be in town for your wedding!
