It is definitely easier having a space to work in and having all my stuff in one place....maybe I will end up taking over the whole room? I'm going to need space anyway for my airbrush and I'm wanting to try out casting my own molds too. Lots of new things to do. Here is what I have right now.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi9frEnvCgfafjcyUZg1fv8Eth4XF2e2CJ02Z7b0VYgQv_XUFS3LP020liTP13d2A0926nZUDDauyDG89rtee8Mj4mMlgYQB_6h-NjwhvZ-XGV2ICKVR4jzg9AFk76ba3mT3NETXHm_MEI/s1600/IMG_1328.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi9frEnvCgfafjcyUZg1fv8Eth4XF2e2CJ02Z7b0VYgQv_XUFS3LP020liTP13d2A0926nZUDDauyDG89rtee8Mj4mMlgYQB_6h-NjwhvZ-XGV2ICKVR4jzg9AFk76ba3mT3NETXHm_MEI/s1600/IMG_1328.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
Just a corner...for now.<br />
<br />
My tree is in the garage because I don't want to have to carry it downstairs and through a doorway when it's finally done. As of right now, the base with roots and the middle of the trunk are formed with chicken wire and wrapped in tape. They are ready to start the paper maché but there is one problem, I don't have any paper. Looks like I will finally be getting that subscription to the Seattle Times.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhZi9mCF4F21C_EY_pqQczrwxw9a5MnDAPF7QdMkDIRzFt_CXZ77qMK9JP7Sd6SwFX2yDNMBoTHnZGy0vueVdHNwei8XcPte36UnN3RWdP2Bc8OG0r4E25Ed_14uOK5SNBrUN7I-zchQhs/s1600/IMG_1319.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhZi9mCF4F21C_EY_pqQczrwxw9a5MnDAPF7QdMkDIRzFt_CXZ77qMK9JP7Sd6SwFX2yDNMBoTHnZGy0vueVdHNwei8XcPte36UnN3RWdP2Bc8OG0r4E25Ed_14uOK5SNBrUN7I-zchQhs/s1600/IMG_1319.jpg" height="320" width="240" /></a></div>
This pic is just the chicken wire, no tape.<br />
<br />
I don't know how much I will be getting done this weekend because I'm going to be attending the Mother Earth News Fair in Puyallup. I'm looking forward to learning lots of cool things and basically hanging out with a bunch of hippies! For now I will leave you with some pictures of the dolls that I have painted, I will probably be adding to some of them when I get my airbrush but for now they are just painted with brush and acrylic paint. Enjoy and have a great weekend.<br />

It took some time but after 11 years of marriage and moving all over the world he finally convinced me that Halloween is really where it's at as far as decorating is concerned. Last Halloween was our first Halloween in OUR house and it was amazing, all the years of talking about how when we had our own place we would build our own props and we could finally do it! We built a coffin like we had always wanted to do, we made a cage for our prisoner skeleton, some plywood tombstones and enlisted our neighbors to help us scare the crap out of the neighborhood kids. We had a blast! We had so much fun that only one picture was taken the whole night because we were too busy handing out candy and scaring people.<br />

I did however, take some pictures of props as I finished them so here are a few.</div>

This year those same neighbors are joining up with us to have the most epic Halloween ever. The plans have been made, the yard is mapped out and even though it's still only May construction starts now because we are even more ambitious this year. I have started on the huge 8 foot tree that will be in the front yard thanks to a great tutorial on <a href="http://aranamuerta.com/2008/01/29/halloween-tree/">Dead Spider</a>. I have also started collecting dolls to paint, here is a preview:</div>

If I have any old followers (which I doubt) this is not going to be anything like the old Friday Night Ambulance, I'm using this to document my Halloween prop-making obsession. I'm hoping to attract some like-minded followers to exchange ideas, possibly brainstorm or maybe even help people that are interested in making their own decorations as well. <div>
For the record: I am an amateur, I have no formal art schooling but I did take some advance courses in high school (which was way too long ago). I use Pinterest a lot for inspiration and I have found a few other blogs that I like too that I will be sure to link in the sidebar. </div>
<div>
Let the crazy adventure begin!</div>

Once everything was unpacked I was still avoiding it because there are so many things I want to get before I show pictures. Well, with the possible government shut down of funds there is a possibility that we won't get paid. Needless to say, I'm being very frugal right now just in case so I'm not exactly running out to buy rugs and accent tables and vases and flowers and such. So, I decided to just give in and take the pictures, just know that this is unfinished but it'll give you an idea.<br />

So, that's it, I hope you enjoyed the tour and I'll try to update these pictures as I get more pieces.Alliehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08707434221124126774noreply@blogger.com6tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6728063647025442756.post-36067256024696743472011-03-20T22:51:00.000-07:002011-03-20T22:51:41.278-07:00<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">This past weekend we headed downtown to the market square to pick up some fresh veggies for dinner, well, we didn't end up with any veggies but we did get some homemade jelly (which is delicious BTW). I love all the fresh fruits and veggies, flowers, eggs, jams and even honey they had. I actually had every intention of getting walking away with some fresh carrots and eggs but I decided to wait till after we walked around a little to buy them so the eggs wouldn't break. Well, as luck would have it we had to leave a little earlier than planned and I missed out. I'll try again on Tuesday though.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Right near where they set up the stalls for the market is the Rathaus (town hall) and I just had to take a picture to show you guys. This building was built in 1572. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />

</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">After walking around some more I decided to stop in to the liquor store, now not all liquor stores are like this one but this is definitely my favorite. They let you sample before you buy and they have tons of different kinds of liquors and wines. They have infused oils as well like rosemary infused olive oil, yum! You buy a bottle, there are many different sizes and shapes, some are plain and some are decorative. I bought a couple plain bottles a few weeks ago and when we finished the alcohol inside I just rinsed it out and then brought it back to fill up again. I went with Amaretto and Marzipan flavored liquor again, those seem to be my favorite but I've got my eye on an orange cream for next time. This is a picture of the wall of liquors.</div><br />

I've actually seen a few more pigs but I didn't have my camera, we're probably going to go on an excursion real soon and try to get pics of the others I've seen and hopefully find some more. I did find out that there are like 157 pigs and the money earned from people that purchased the pigs goes to the kindergartens here, it's a great idea and I'm really glad they did it because it's fun trying to find them all.Alliehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08707434221124126774noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6728063647025442756.post-17760266352384210582011-02-27T10:37:00.001-08:002011-02-27T10:37:36.922-08:00Finding the pigs, part 1So, here in Schweinfurt there are painted pigs all over town and before we left Oklahoma my neighbor and I found out about them. J and D are taking Susie for us so we don't have to subject her to a horrendous 16 hour plane ride and 3 years of apartment living. I'm going to miss her like crazy but at least I know she's going to be staying with people that love her just as much as we do.<br />

It looks like there are going to be some bumps on the road to Germany, we had a major obstacle pop up today but I know that Luis will sort it all out and we will be back on track. Keep your fingers crossed for us and I'll be back in 2 weeks.Alliehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08707434221124126774noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6728063647025442756.post-33201820797597380232010-07-19T08:29:00.000-07:002010-07-19T08:29:17.713-07:00Why My Butt Is Huge.Lately I've been going through my recipes and trying to consolidate them all to one place. I have a lot of printed recipes from Food Network and I was keeping those in a binder while some of my family recipes were on index cards in a recipe box. Well, to save time from searching in two places when looking for a recipe I decided to put them all on 8x11 pieces of paper and put them in the binder.<br />
<br />
This has been great for organizing my recipes and making them easier to find but made me want to go on a baking spree. I've found all these great recipes that I haven't made in years and remembering how yummy they are makes my mouth water. I've also found that there is a disproportionate amount of dessert recipes to meal recipes. Hmmmm, maybe that's why I'm fat?Alliehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08707434221124126774noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6728063647025442756.post-4294233097489339012010-07-14T16:50:00.000-07:002010-07-14T16:50:58.002-07:00Vagina DoctorSo, I went to the "girl parts" doctor today and he gave me the oddest compliment I've ever gotten in my life. Right after he asked me to scoot down a little further he said, "What a nice vagina, that is a clean vagina!" Then he proceeded to tell me that is was, "The cleanest one I've seen all day!"<br />
<br />
Why thank you, I try.Alliehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08707434221124126774noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6728063647025442756.post-15911517037335587962010-07-12T14:10:00.000-07:002010-07-12T14:10:34.834-07:00Cruising the InternetFor those of you that don't keep up with my other blog, you know the one where I talk crazy stuff like running and fitness and all the jazz, the other day I wrote about this great website where you can find all kinds of stuff at great prices plus free shipping! I started out looking for <a href="http://www.bedroomfurniture.com/Beds-C2363.html">twin beds</a> for the kids when we move but I've found myself just hanging out there checking out the other <a href="http://www.csnstores.com/ourstores.asp">200+ stores</a> they have. The website is <a href="http://www.csnstores.com/">CSNstores.com</a> and they have everything you could ever want or need. So, if you're like me and you spend the hot hours of the day browsing the internet you should stop by and do a little shopping.Alliehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08707434221124126774noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6728063647025442756.post-32050509466856088662010-07-10T10:53:00.000-07:002010-07-10T10:53:27.560-07:00Easy like Saturday morning???I love the weekends, mostly because I get to sleep super late. A lot of you don't know just how lazy I am, I know some people think '<i>but you're a runner, how lazy can you really be?</i>' Well, the truth is that I am the laziest person I know, especially on Saturday mornings.<br />
<br />
My husband and I have this thing that goes on between us on Saturday mornings, he wakes up early and I stay in bed, it's great. Well, eventually I wake up but I'm too cold to get out from under the covers (which is totally his fault for making me keep the AC on 63). Anywho, he comes in and asks if I'm going to ever get up and I tell him I will just as soon as he turns off the fan. Now he usually eventually turns off the fan and then I still lay there under my snuggly blankets until he calls the kids in the room to tickle me and drag me out of bed.<br />
<br />
Well, one morning I called him in the room and he wouldn't come to turn off the fan so I called his cell phone to get him to run in the room. Ever since he's been real hesitant to come in the room when I call him. This morning we used Sophia shuttling the phone back and forth and the Notes app to have this conversation.<br />
<br />
Me: I need you, please come here!!!!<br />
Him: Why, I don't trust you?<br />
Me: Why not??? I would never ask you if I didn't really need you.<br />
Him: Yes, but we are in disagreement over what "need" is.<br />
Me: But my favorite part of Saturday morning is seeing your handsome face.<br />
Him: I need food, I am going to die.<br />
Me: But my fan is on!!!!!!<br />
<br />
You guys, he came in the room and turned my fan off. Best husband evah!!!!!Alliehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08707434221124126774noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6728063647025442756.post-101353077638725072010-05-27T07:25:00.000-07:002010-05-27T07:25:32.771-07:00Summer Lovin'Today is the last day of school, it's such an exciting time for kids because the summer holds such endless possibilities. When I was little I used to imagine doing all kinds of amazing things in the summer and then come fall I was always disappointed that we didn't do any of those things. I'm not complaining though because the stuff we did do was awesome. I have the best summer memories and just because I didn't appreciate them at the time (I was a bratty kid) doesn't mean that I don't appreciate them now.<br />
<br />
Last summer I spent working while my kids stayed with my mom, my mom has health problems so they didn't get to do much at all, this year I'm making it up to them. I'm going to be the best freaking mother ever! We're going to the pool at least once a week, we're going to go to story time at the library once a week, we're going to have a week long trip to Houston where we'll go to the beach (hopefully it won't be covered in oil), we're going to have a week long trip to Colorado, we're running a 5K as a family, we're going to the lake, we're going to do arts and crafts and play with bubbles and all kinds of fun things that kids love. This summer is NOT going to be spent indoors glued to a tv.<br />
<br />
I also have some other lofty goals for this summer, like, I want to teach Sophia to ride her bike without training wheels, I'm trying to get the kids in swim class (we'll see how that goes) and I really want to learn to skateboard (I'm not really sure why but I have an overwhelming urge to skateboard). I want to ride bikes all over post, I want to go through so much sunscreen that I will wish I had bought stock in Coppertone. This is going to be a great summer!Alliehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08707434221124126774noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6728063647025442756.post-8721516355632943852010-05-13T12:37:00.000-07:002010-05-13T12:37:35.607-07:00I got an email this morning letting me know that my quote will be used on <a href="http://www.overheardintheoffice.com/">Overheard in the Office</a> today! The funniest part was that I didn't even remember what I submitted but when I saw the 3PM post it all came back to me. LOL<br />
<br />
I really miss working at the bank, it really was great comedic relief sometimes.Alliehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08707434221124126774noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6728063647025442756.post-71714956630818486222010-05-06T09:59:00.000-07:002010-05-06T09:59:05.679-07:00Guten TagSo, it's been forever since I've written on this blog but I finally have something to say that isn't about running, amazing huh? On Tuesday we found out that we are going to be moving to Germany in March! I'm so excited because we all know how much I hate Oklahoma (even though running has really helped me appreciate Oklahoma a lot more). I'm going to miss my friends and family but I'm beyond excited to get to travel and experience a new culture. I'm really excited because the kids are old enough to remember this time in their lives, it's going to be amazing.<br />
<br />
I really wanted to start blogging here again so I can look back on our journey in Germany and our journey getting to Germany. I have a lot of stuff to do before we leave so it's a good thing we have 10 months before we leave. I'm going to start planning out places we want to visit while we're there, France is really close to where we're going to be so I'm sure that will be in there along with Italy (our #1 spot) and the UK. So, if anyone has any suggestions leave me a comment, I pretty much want to see everything but I know that won't be possible so I need to narrow it down.Alliehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08707434221124126774noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6728063647025442756.post-65738612940582709502010-01-31T15:50:00.002-08:002010-01-31T15:55:41.667-08:00We now interrupt your regularly scheduled blogging...I know I haven't been blogging here lately but the thing is <a href="http://thatgirlisarunningfool.blogspot.com">my running blog</a> has really been my focus, so, I've decided to take a "time out" here. I'll still be around commenting on your blogs like always I'm just putting a lot of time into my running and I only have time for one blog right now. Naturally, I'm choosing to put my attention on my running blog because running is so important to me. Feel free to stop by though, even if you aren't a runner, I won't bite!Alliehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08707434221124126774noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6728063647025442756.post-42319286819607296952010-01-21T06:19:00.002-08:002010-01-21T06:40:46.081-08:00Houston, we have a name.After much debating we finally named the kitten. We decided on Lucy, mostly because she's a precious little girl and that name reminded us of a sweet little baby. It's also nice that when she does something wrong I get to say, "Lucy! You got some 'splainin' to do."Alliehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08707434221124126774noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6728063647025442756.post-69536208744475209132010-01-19T06:39:00.006-08:002010-01-19T06:46:59.140-08:00Here Kitty, Kitty.<div>Our Sunday was spent in Oklahoma City where we got this little ball of precious. Typically a present that you have to order live animals in the mail would piss me off but this was really cool and Luis and I were just as excited about it as Nicholas was.</div><div><img src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgPVxLUolhbBB_KvD5KCR-7GpPlbzdOD_4IVTLs-vWGT01itV2RzeAATaT1ZKhVwR5Br6C_MSICQOTXjxz-BTihMBLd3eLbke2UEjQN2ilZgocSDA6vsh7PCmAUVnfeGXPQQIvsrEeqj2k/s400/Ants+003.JPG" style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5424503782695713874" /></div><div>Anyway, apparently this is some amazing gel developed by NASA (you hear that <a href="http://twentythreestars.blogspot.com/">Gin</a>? I wanted to share with everyone because I know sometimes as a parent you get stuck when trying to get a gift for a child or when you're looking for something fun and educational for your kids and I really think this is a great idea, even if it is a hassle to order ants in the mail.</div><div><br /><div style="text-align: left;">I'll be sure to post some pictures after a few days to show you how the ants are tunneling (because I know you're as riveted as I am...what? I really am).</div></div>Alliehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08707434221124126774noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6728063647025442756.post-17719056706592433842010-01-07T06:10:00.003-08:002010-01-07T06:36:25.937-08:00Awwww, shucks!Last night I got a comment from <a href="http://www.blogger.com/profile/17050000234750719978">this cool chick</a> because I came to Colorado and didn't tell her (in my defense I didn't tell anyone because it was an impulsive trip with no planning). I knew she lived in Colorado, I mean her blog is called <a href="http://www.raisingcolorado.com/">Raising Colorado</a>, duh! But I had no idea that she literally worked right down the street from where <a href="http://www.shetunesintokyo.blogspot.com">J</a> lives and we actually went out a few times while I was in town and it would have been sooooo easy to drop by and say hi. I can't believe it and I'm super annoyed because I would love to <strike>brag</strike> tell you about meeting her. <div><br /></div><div>So next time I'm in Colorado (probably this summer) I am so going to meet her, maybe get to see her adorable (and very Asian-looking) son, Bok Choy Troy! And I'll definitely tell J to keep an eye out for hot UPS guys because that could be her hubby. How exciting!</div>Alliehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08707434221124126774noreply@blogger.com6tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6728063647025442756.post-80601109154525995342010-01-06T14:31:00.000-08:002010-01-06T14:32:49.968-08:00Why I Love Google Reader<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', Trebuchet, Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; color: rgb(204, 204, 204); line-height: 20px; ">I was a little late getting on the Google Reader bandwagon, I've had a blog and been reading blogs for over 2 years now and in December I finally tried the reader. <a href="http://www.shetunesintokyo.blogspot.com/" style="color: rgb(170, 119, 170); text-decoration: none; ">J</a> has been using Google Reader for a looooong time and her biggest problem has always been that once you start using the reader you will stop commenting as much. I can definitely see how that could be possible so I didn't ever want to try it. I pride myself on my comments, I love getting comments and so I like to leave comments because if I like them then I'm sure you do too. Seems like sound logic.<div><br /></div><div>So, I was hesitant to get it for several years but then I changed my email to gmail and there was this nifty little button I could get on my homepage and it said "Google Reader" and I thought it would look nice next to my nifty little <a href="http://twitter.com/alliebear" style="color: rgb(170, 119, 170); text-decoration: none; ">Twitter</a> button so I decided to try it out.</div><div><br /></div><div>Sweet mother of God, I love Google Reader! I actually get everyone's blogs read in a decent amount of time, I also don't lose blogs because I didn't have time to check them out before you talkative little people decided to write another post. Before I was struggling to get everyone's blogs read and now that I've added <a href="http://www.thatgirlisarunningfool.blogspot.com/" style="color: rgb(170, 119, 170); text-decoration: none; ">my other blog</a> I have a lot of new running blogs to read too, I was a little overwhelmed with it all. Now that I finally got with the times I can feasibly add probably 20 more blogs and still keep up. Maybe I comment less now but I read more so I think it all evens out in the end.</div><div><br /></div><div>So, thanks, Google Reader, for allowing me to read more blogs and put off all the things I <i>should</i> be doing, you're a champ!</div></span>Alliehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08707434221124126774noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6728063647025442756.post-2065969762179681452010-01-04T11:00:00.006-08:002010-01-04T11:13:16.173-08:00Why I Love My Best Friend<div style="text-align: left;">I got this in the mail today from <a href="http://www.shetunesintokyo.blogspot.com/">my BFF</a> and it is totally me.</div><img src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhTvcjbFWb0OOmyFhdMLhYx57MidpqfvwsQheCrM7-4sOHC-5p4tRtK5GmBpN3eDgrA0YrZH2VQsJhyphenhyphenc82X1RnI4ooMMEvbsecZIASSGbUoCugY_w8EsKB0LHW1skz7Vsoa4uteoWYd8M8/s400/t+shirt+004.JPG" style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5422961868198708034" /><div><div style="text-align: center;">Just in case you couldn't read that.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><img src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiIDX3T7ADIV94-i0wGu0-M3xXH1yDT0_nwjuguLR6N2NqBFVvHszqICfoN8xzyQ2_4PoRhSrTVwAYQKXoPeVmYsZnKFay8yQWxEzcpwWV5J_JiJodTJs8UH36QAZsv75fWnZEwYzOmqPg/s400/t+shirt+005.JPG" style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5422962035280206754" /><div style="text-align: center;">I don't know why it looks like there are lines on this shirt, there aren't.</div><div style="text-align: left;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: left;">If you love this then you can check it out and more <a href="http://www.threadless.com">here</a>.</div><div style="text-align: left;"><br /></div></div>Alliehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08707434221124126774noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6728063647025442756.post-64950433367037626632009-12-30T07:45:00.003-08:002009-12-30T08:02:17.515-08:00Coloradooooooooooo!!!!!Sorry I was M.I.A. for awhile, we took a trip to Colorado for Christmas to visit my JillyBean. It was totally unplanned, in fact we gave them about 13 hours notice that we would be coming and staying with them for 4 days, talk about a surprise.<div><br /></div><div>It was an amazing trip and it just made me want to get to Colorado that much more. It was probably my favorite Christmas yet. If we don't live there by next year then I could definitely see us taking this trip again but we're crossing our fingers that we'll be moved by then.</div><div><br /></div><div>We've only been back a few days and I already miss J, D, and Princess. The kids are bugging me about when we're going back because we all had so much fun. We'll be planning another trip this summer because J and I want to go to Lilith Fair in Denver (we've already got our shirts picked out and everything). </div><div><br /></div><div>The only problem with loving Colorado so much is that it just makes Oklahoma look even worse and I didn't even know that was possible.</div>Alliehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08707434221124126774noreply@blogger.com4
